It’s a cruel
(Cruel), cruel summer
Leaving me here on my own
It certainly is a cruel summer when you’re stuck at home and have absolutely nothing to do. While everyone has their own go-to ways to wind down, my personal favorite activity is to sit back and enjoy a good old summer TV show.
When it comes to watching shows, you have two options to choose from. You may turn on your TV and make good use of your cable TV service with its abundance of channels to watch, or you can use your favorite streaming platforms to watch the shows of your choice!
However, the key to catching the best shows is keeping tabs on what's airing when. So let’s stay ahead of schedule and see what’s in store for us this summer.

Top Shows to Watch this Summer
2025 is packed with a lot of shows worth watching, with most of them being returning seasons that will continue the story. However, this blog will only list the top 5 highly anticipated shows you must watch this summer. Let’s take a look:
- Ginny & Georgia
- Phineas and Ferb
- Ironheart
- Squid Game
- Stranger Things
Ginny & Georgia
Expected Release Date: 5th June

The second season of Ginny & Georgia left off at a huge cliffhanger that made fans instantly ask for more. Two years later, we’re finally getting an update on the story as season 3 is dropping on June 5th. The events of season 3 will pick up right where season 2 ended, with Georgia’s arrest.
If you need a refresher, Georgia was arrested for murder during her wedding ceremony, and this led to a fallout among the entire family, with the most strain being on Ginny. This season will most likely keep its major focus on Georgia and how she’s surviving prison.
You can binge the first two seasons before you watch the third on Netflix.
Phineas and Ferb
Expected Release Date: 5th June

Our favorite siblings are finally making a return to our screens this year! I remember I was a kid when Phineas and Ferb released, and the show was definitely among my all-time favorites! It had a total of 4 seasons, and the last episode aired in 2015.
Ten years later, we’re finally getting another season that will continue the story of the mischievous siblings as they wreak havoc in their backyard every day for summer. The best part about the show is that it is set during the summer, making it the perfect summer TV show for you.
You can catch the show on Disney+, and considering that all of us grew up watching it, this will definitely be a nostalgic treat!

Ironheart
Expected Release Date: 24th June

Well, someone had to pick up Iron Man’s mantle, and I’m glad it’s Ironheart. One thing that really appealed to me about the show is that it will be a (sort of) revival of Iron Man, who has always been a fan favorite.
Ironheart will be the epic story of Riri Williams after she returns to Chicago following the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We’ll see her replicate Iron Man’s tech, which she will tweak to turn herself into Ironheart.
We’ll have to wait for the show to drop on Disney+ to see how Riri starts her journey as a young hero!
Squid Game
Expected Release Date: 27th June

When this Korean show was first released, it took the entire world by storm due to its utterly brilliant story writing. Every episode had you glued to your screen as you clutched your sofa in amazement. The show is currently two seasons strong, and the second season was released just recently in December 2024. To our surprise, the third and final season of the show is set to release on June 27th, 2025.
The show will pick up right where season 2 left off, and it will continue Gi-hun’s efforts to end the games, and the Front Man is still fighting to continue them. The last season is definitely going to be as exhilarating as its predecessors, and I believe it might take it up a notch too!
Till then, we’ll have to wait for the show to air on Netflix!
While you’re waiting, it isn’t necessary that you only rely on streaming services to watch shows. You can catch interesting shows on your TV channel lineup, too. In that case, I’ve noticed that Xfinity has a great library of channels to watch, including Showtime, Cinemax, STARZ, and Paramount+. In fact, if you , you can get the best of both worlds and enjoy a larger selection of shows and movies to watch!
Stranger Things
Expected Release Date: TBA

Every Stranger Things fan remembers where they ended the previous season, and honestly, we’ve waited quite a while to see how they’ll conclude the story. The aftermath of the battle against Vecna dealt a lot of damage, most of it being emotional. Going into details will just spoil the story for people who are yet to watch the show, but the true fans know what I am talking about.
The show also revived some iconic music, such as Kate Bush’s Running Up That Hill (iconic scene, I must say) and Metallica’s Master of Puppets (again, another iconic scene). We’re just stoked to see what Stranger Things has to offer next in the final chapter. You can watch the show on Netflix as soon as it is released.
The fourth season of Stranger Things links back to the first season, which is why it would be a great idea for you to binge all the seasons before you start season 5. You should put your internet service to good use as you binge episode after episode, so that you don’t miss out on any key plot point in the story.
Want a Faster Streaming Experience?
There you have it, this marks the end of your list of summer TV shows that you just can't miss. The most we can do at this point is to wait for these shows to air so that we can begin binge-watching them! Till then, you can re-watch the previous seasons to catch up with the stories.
