Technology is evolving at a very fast pace. It seems like only yesterday that the iPhone 5 was released (in 2012) and now, 10 years later, here we are looking at the iPhone 14. This is just one example of how fast technology is evolving. But the fact of the matter is that technology is something that won’t stop growing or advancing. Instead, we will keep going, trying to improve the product, the service, or anything else in the realm of technology.
Naturally, it is wonderful to see how things keep changing and improving in many cases, especially for our fellow tech freaks! One disadvantage that comes out of this much advancement is that some people would just like to stick to the old technology instead of the latest one (Chris Evans being one of them!). However, some things just don’t stay the same forever and technology is certainly one of them.
So, moving forward and into the new year, there are a few products or trends that we believe will cause a boom in the industry! Which technology trends are these? Let’s take a look!
Many of you already know what the Metaverse is. However, if you only have a hint about it, but not much else, then allow us to explain. The Metaverse is a world much like our own, except it is 100% virtual. You might have seen the name floating around one too many times. Using Metaverse, you can contact practically anyone from your real-life relatives to online friends. Instead of using a phone to do it, you now have a virtual space to do that meet-up or gathering.
So, how is this technology or world being brought into our lives? It is via social media, of course! A lot of social media platforms have started to embrace this new world. Facebook, particularly, has been making virtual reality headsets to bring together the real world and the virtual world. A lot of big companies have started to or are already a part of this Metaverse and it seems, in 2023, the smaller companies and any other leftover organizations will follow suit!
We’ve already come far enough to design and produce headsets through which we can immerse ourselves in a 3D experience right from the comfort of our homes. But while VR headsets can take us on a trip to Hawaii or make us feel like the action hero in some zombie game, you can’t exactly check your notifications or take calls with the headsets. Well, we have another device for that, and they are called Smart Glasses!
While it is not a common device that you would usually spot in stores, many influencers have recently started using it. Smart glasses can be used to take calls, check messages, check your social media pages, and even to record videos or take pictures. Basically, it is like one of those devices that you would see on spy movies and cartoons. So, as we said before, these smart glasses are not very common right now, but it is only a matter of time before they become a common household device. One thing is for sure, this device is definitely one of the top technology trends of 2023.
One of the biggest problems in this world is climate change. There are multiple factors of climate change and one of these factors is pollution. Unfortunately, pollution doesn’t just come from food waste, clothes, gas, and whatnot. Technology can also take a toll on the environment and so, this is one thing we would like to change about it. While we can’t really say that this is a problem that a lot of people are focused on, it is something we would love to see in the technology trends of 2023.

AI is able to recognize and mimic human sounds, and it can even hold a one-on-one conversation with you.
2023 definitely looks like a very promising year for technological advancements and we can’t wait to see what is in store! Of course, while there are so many things to look forward to, there are equally many things that we do not want to see. Some of them we even mentioned above, like technology that leaves a sort of negative impact on the environment.
